Cambridge Audio Alva ST Cartridge (Audio-Technica AT-VM95E)
The Cambridge Audio Alva ST cartridge is the Audio-Technica AT-VM95E, the moving magnet cartridge supplied with and matched to Cambridge Audio Alva turntables. Part of the popular VM95 Series, it features a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus for half-inch mount turntables, with a powerful 4.0 mV output, exceptional channel separation, and low distortion for superior tonal quality. A durable, low-resonance housing with threaded inserts mounts to a headshell with just two screws, and interchangeable AT-VMN95 series styli fit across all VM95 Series cartridges. Available now at Vinyl Sound.
The matched cartridge for Cambridge Alva turntables
Whether you are replacing a worn cartridge on a Cambridge Alva turntable or restoring one to factory sound, the Alva ST cartridge is the direct, matched choice. Its bonded elliptical diamond tracks the groove more accurately than a conical stylus for cleaner detail and better high-frequency reproduction, and because every VM95 Series stylus is interchangeable, you can later step up to a more advanced VM95 profile without replacing the whole cartridge.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Cambridge Alva ST cartridge?
The Cambridge Alva ST cartridge is the Audio-Technica AT-VM95E, a dual moving magnet cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil bonded elliptical stylus and 4.0 mV output. It is the cartridge matched to Cambridge Audio Alva turntables and makes an easy upgrade or replacement for any half-inch mount deck.
Is the Alva ST the same as the Audio-Technica AT-VM95E?
Yes. The Alva ST is the AT-VM95E from Audio-Technica's VM95 Series. That means AT-VMN95 series replacement styli fit it directly, including the elliptical AT-VMN95E and higher profiles like microlinear or Shibata.
What turntables is it compatible with?
It fits Cambridge Audio Alva turntables and any turntable with a standard half-inch mount headshell, using two screws through its threaded inserts. As a moving magnet cartridge, use it with an MM phono input or phono stage.
What tracking force should I set?
Set the tracking force between 1.75 and 2.00 g, with 2.0 g recommended. Balance the tonearm first, then dial in the counterweight to this range for the best tracking and record care.
