Matrix Audio

Matrix Audio DACs, music streamers, headphone amplifiers, and hi-fi separates are available at Vinyl Sound USA Inc. in Buffalo, NY, your authorised Matrix Audio dealer serving Western New York and the United States. Founded in Xi'an, China, Matrix Audio has established itself as one of the most technically accomplished digital audio manufacturers in the world, engineering products around leading ESS Sabre and AKM chipsets with fully balanced circuit architectures, proprietary H-shaped chassis design for mechanical stability and circuit optimization, and native support for DSD512 and PCM 768kHz high-resolution playback. The Matrix Audio lineup at Vinyl Sound Buffalo spans the Mini-i Pro 4, Element X2, Element X2 Pure, Element M2, Element i2, and flagship X-Sabre 3 DAC, alongside the N Series network streamers and dedicated headphone amplifiers, covering desktop DAC/headphone amplifier combinations through reference-grade streaming preamplifier systems. Matrix Audio products are engineered around three core technical pillars that distinguish them from competing digital audio manufacturers. First, every Matrix Audio DAC and streamer implements fully balanced circuit architecture from input through to output, using dual-mono DAC implementations with separate power supplies for digital and analog stages that deliver channel separation, noise floor, and dynamic range measurements that challenge designs costing multiples of their price. Second, Matrix Audio's proprietary H-shaped chassis distributes circuit boards for optimal signal path geometry and mechanical resonance control, while integrated NVMe SSD storage slots allow local music libraries to reside inside the component itself. Third, native Roon Ready, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2, DLNA, and MQA certification across the Element and Mini-i series provides the most comprehensive streaming platform ecosystem of any Chinese digital audio manufacturer. The Element X2 is the flagship streaming DAC preamplifier, featuring a 3.46-inch LCD touchscreen, ARC HDMI input, USB-C connectivity, and comprehensive digital inputs including X-SPDIF 2 for ultra-high-speed DSD and PCM transmission, competing directly with Lumin, Auralic, and Rose Hi-Fi streamers while offering superior DAC architecture and connectivity at a lower investment. Matrix Audio's Mini-i Pro 4 serves as the definitive desktop DAC and headphone amplifier for audiophiles seeking reference-grade performance in a compact form factor, combining ESS ES9038PRO dual-DAC implementation, fully balanced XLR headphone output, and Roon Ready network streaming in a chassis small enough for desktop placement. The X-Sabre 3 standalone DAC delivers Matrix Audio's most advanced conversion technology in a dedicated component optimised for integration with existing preamplifier and amplifier systems, with support for DSD512 native and PCM 768kHz via USB that places it among the most technically capable DACs at its price point.
