Technics SL-1500CS Direct Drive Turntable with Ortofon 2M Red

Technics SL-1500CS Direct Drive Turntable with Ortofon 2M Red

The Technics SL-1500CS is the evolution of the beloved SL-1500C, achieving elevated rotational accuracy through advanced digital control with Delta Sigma (ΔΣ) Drive. It inherits Technics' high-end sound-quality concept and adds original Technics technologies such as a coreless direct drive motor and a high-sensitivity tonearm. A built-in phono EQ connects to a wide variety of devices, and a high-quality Ortofon 2M Red cartridge is included, making it a complete turntable system for a wide range of listeners, not just dedicated audio enthusiasts. Now offered in a new Metallic Gray finish. Available now at Vinyl Sound.

Coreless direct drive and Delta Sigma Drive

For decades, Technics' direct drive has delivered accurate, maintenance-free rotation by spinning the platter directly with strong torque. The latest coreless motor eliminates cogging for even greater precision, and ΔΣ-Drive, a digital control technology developed for Technics' Grand Class, removes even subtle noise in the motor-drive signal to push rotational accuracy to a higher level.

Technics sound right out of the box

The highly acclaimed built-in phono equalizer lets you play records immediately without an external preamp, with a short internal signal path that minimises noise and preserves signal integrity, and the circuit can be fully bypassed when you use an external phono EQ. The phono EQ was refined through repeated listening tests, with shielding, dedicated plus/minus power supplies, and separate grounding for low-noise sound. The included Ortofon 2M Red cartridge means Technics sound straight out of the box.

Precision tonearm, platter, and cabinet

A lightweight, high-rigidity aluminium S-shaped tonearm with gimbal suspension, a machined housing, and a high-precision bearing provides high initial sensitivity, with an Auto Lifter that raises the cartridge at the end of a record to protect your vinyl and stylus. The two-layer platter combines a rib-reinforced aluminium die-cast platter with a deadening rubber layer to eliminate resonance. A high-rigidity cabinet unites an aluminium die-cast chassis with a glass-fibre-reinforced ABS layer, and spring-and-rubber high-damping insulators isolate the deck from vibration and howling even at high volume.
